Most titanium jewelers are, at their most basic, machine shops. Ti Designs is no exception to this rule. From humble beginnings with a drill press and a bench grinder, Ti Designs has grown into a fully equipped machine shop. What separates Ti Designs from other machine shops is attitude: I create one piece at a time, with no thought for future reproductions. Other makers focus on designs that can be churned out, perhaps hundreds at a time. My designs carry no such restraints, and as a result have taken a slightly different turn. While others limit themselves to machine tools, Ti Designs prides itself on a human touch: files and rotary burs create the complex curves that define a Ti Designs piece. Ti Designs is a creative outlet, focused on expanding what is possible within the realm of titanium as a jewelry material. Often, inspiration comes from others saying that some design isn't possible in Ti. I see it as my duty to prove them wrong. While such a design may not be possible to create in number, I have no such criteria for what I make. What I do is the difference between painting and print. One of these is art, the other, a copy. With no limits imposed, Ti Designs can create for you what others dare not.
