Raw gold bars

Pure 24-Karat gold comes in many forms. In this photo gold is shown in the bar form. One of the qualities of gold is it's heaviness. When you pick up one of these bars you can feel it is solid gold through and through.

Cutting the rubber mold

The silver model of the new jewelry creation is placed in rubber and heated to produce a rubber mold. this mold is then cut open.

Wax, wax, wax

The rubber mold is injected with wax, which will then be placed on a tree or set with stones in place.

Investment flask

The wax tree is surrounded with investment compound and vacumed to remove air bubbles. This is allowed to dry and placed in an oven for hardening.

Pouring molten gold

The white hot molten gold is poured into an investment flask, which already sits in the vacum chamber.

Gold castings

The cast jewelry is cut from the tree and tumbled for preliminary polishing and finishing work.

Polishing

In this phase of the polishing process, a split lap is used to bring the gold to a high shine.

Stone setting

The larger stone in the center of a piece of jewelry is called the center stone. Here the setter is setting this stone.
